Let them sit alone in silence beneath the Lord’s demands. Let them lie face down in the dust, for there may be hope at last. Let them turn the other cheek to those who strike them and accept the insults of their enemies. For no one is abandoned by the Lord forever. – Lamentations 3: 28-31.

To feel misunderstood, disliked, or attacked can be an agonizing feeling.

Especially when God Himself can be a witness to the love in our hearts, and the treatment we receive feels largely unprovoked.

It’s just a fact of life that people can be cruel-spirited, judgmental, and relentless.

And even if we don’t have the spirit to retaliate or confront, if we’re honest, sometimes the pain we feel can be hard to shake.

But in those moments where we feel we’re being treated poorly, we have to remember a few things: 1) God sees everything, 2) He loves us, and 3) He’s a God of justice.

We don’t have to carry a heavy heart, retaliate, or be upset.

Because God’s love for us overshadows the hate and cruelty of the world.

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, whenever I feel hurt, misunderstood, or attacked, please send your Holy Spirit to comfort my soul. Help me to not nurse hurt feelings or retaliate. Instead, help me to turn the other cheek and love those who hurt me. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
