Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.” – Matthew 16: 23
Sometimes the hardest thing for us to do as human beings is see things the way God sees them.
When someone is sick, lost to addiction or crime, or dealing with some other hardship or unfortunate circumstance, all we want is for things to turn around.
But God’s plans are bigger than our desires.
When Jesus told His disciples that He would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders and be killed, Peter reacted the way you would expect a true to react.
He didn’t want to think of His beloved Jesus suffering and dying.
But it was God’s master plan for Jesus to die for our sins.
And Jesus was quick to call out Satan’s manipulative tricks!
So when we face unfavorable circumstances, we have to follow Jesus’ instructions and learn to see things from a godly point of view.
We have to be at peace with whatever our present circumstances are. Because if God allowed it or orchestrated it, it’s in His plan.
And His plan is better than any plan we could ever conceive of.
Be blessed,
Alexia
Prayer: God, when I’m tempted to react to situations based on emotion, help me to see things from your point of view. Help me to understand that whatever I or someone I love may be facing, it’s all a part of your divine plan. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
