Let your tears flow like a river day and night. Give yourselves no rest; give your eyes no relief. Rise during the night and cry out. Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up your hands to him in prayer. – Lamentations 2: 18-19
Over the past couple of years, society has become more aware of the need to take care of mental and emotional health.
And we’ve been encouraged to seek out therapy and professional help to manage our deep-seated issues.
But before we talk to any human being, we should let loose and reach out to God first.
If we’ve messed up big time and don’t know how to make things right, like the Israelites who were exiled, we have to pour our hearts out to God.
If we’re struggling with a personal issue that we’re afraid to share with others, we have to cry out to the only one who can fix us.
The most intimate relationship we should have in our lives is with God.
Because He’s not human; we’ll never drain him, frustrate him, or annoy him.
It’s never too late in the night or too early in the morning to call on Him.
With Him, we’re free to let it all hang out.
There’s no need to suppress our emotions or carry any weight when we know God hears our cries.
He’s our numero uno lifeline.
Be blessed,
Alexia
Prayer: [Today, have a deeply personal conversation with God about your biggest fears, sins, or concerns. Talk to Him for as long as you need to. And don’t hold anything back!]
