May he give us the desire to do his will in everything and to obey all the commands, decrees, and regulations that he gave our ancestors. – 1 Kings 8: 58

When Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, they unleashed sin into the world, tainting all of us and separating us from God (thanks guys).

So our default from birth is to rebel against the nature of God.

Our hearts are wayward and worldly and left to our own devices, we won’t do the right things.

Forgiveness doesn’t come easy to us because our natural inclination is to nurse our hurt feelings.

When we come across people we don’t understand, our first instinct is to judge.

And resisting temptation is difficult because it’s in our nature to indulge in things that don’t honor God and don’t serve us well.

That’s why we have to renew our minds in Christ daily and ask Him to place the desire within us to do God’s will.

We have to understand that to seek our own way is an act of futility because it leads us to a dead end each and every time.

And we have to consciously ask Him to give us an insatiable appetite for righteousness, increasing us in Christ-like character.

We have to ask Him to give us a heart that seeks Him, seeks to please Him, wants to read and understand His Word, and walk in His will.

Because when we do, He will be faithful to secure us on the path of glory and promise.

We serve a mighty, wonderful, and matchless God, and we must always remember that being in alignment with His will is guaranteed to be for our good.

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, I pray that you ground me in your will right now. Align my heart, mind, and spirit with yours and give me the desire to do your will in everything. Lead me away from any and all temptation and bind any distracting spirit that seeks to sabotage the purpose you’ve intended for me. Lord, I love you and I want to be pleasing in your sight. In Jesus Name, I pray, Amen.
