Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead? Look to God’s instructions and teachings! – Isaiah 8: 19-20

Before I gave my life completely over to Christ, I used to go to psychics and mediums for guidance. 

I didn’t know any better and the mystique of it all was appealing and entertaining.

But over time, the Holy Spirit revealed to me that the guidance I was receiving was dangerously incorrect. 

The psychic I went to told me a lot of things that were true, so I took her words to heart. 

But one night the Holy Spirit sent me a vision that was contrary to something she told me, and it was so intense and scary that it jarred me right out of my sleep. 

And going into the next day, I was so disturbed by what I’d seen that I was compelled to do some serious fact-finding to confirm if the vision that came to me was true. 

What I discovered made the hairs on the back of my neck stand straight up. 

It was then that I realized I needed to stay far away from psychics and mediums.  

And I’ve never entertained that stuff since because God looked after me in a way that nobody else could have.

In moments when I felt like nobody cared about me, I was in tears thanking Him for the vision He sent to me.

I felt so special that He would care enough about me to expose the truth to me in a way that would get my attention and guide me back on the right path. 

When I finally decided to commit myself to Christ 100% and devote myself to a church, that vision was a HUGE reason why.

So if you or anyone else around you is intrigued by that type of spirituality, I’m telling you right now: never seek the counsel of a psychic, medium, shaman, guru, or spiritual advisor. 

Look only to God’s instructions and teachings.

Prayer: God, thank you so much for having my best interests at heart and knowing what’s absolutely best for my life. Keep me away from the allure of spirituality that does not come from you.
