So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. – Galatians 5: 16-17

When I was younger, I never understood what people meant when they said, “I’m going to do whatever God tells me to do.”

In my 8-year-old mind, I wondered if people literally heard a voice telling them to go this way or that.

But now I understand that when we submit our lives to the Spirit and let Him take control, He will make sure we follow the path He’s carved out for us.

When the Spirit is urging us to move in one direction or the other, He will make sure that we get the message loud and clear in a way we can understand.

He will infiltrate our hearts and minds and cause our wants and desires to change completely.

We will no longer crave worldly things that lead to spiritual death because the Spirit will convict us that we are not a part of the world.

He will make us official ambassadors for the Kingdom.

And He will always lead us along the path that ends in tangible victory for our lives.

All we have to do to jumpstart the process is ask Him to lead us and open our eyes, ears, hearts, and minds so that we can recognize His voice when He’s talking to us.

When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our lives, He will take all the guesswork out of living and we will be so much better for it!

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, right now I submit my life over to you completely and I pray that your Holy Spirit will guide every aspect of my life. I am willing to give up all my wants, dreams, and desires if they don’t match the plans you have for my life. I will go in whatever direction your Holy Spirit tells me to go, so help me to hear you clearly when you are speaking to me. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
