In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. – John 1: 1-2; 14

My favorite preacher, Tony Evans, gave the best explanation of the Holy Trinity that I’ve ever heard.

He said that all three were the same in essence, but different in function.

God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are all definitively the Word of eternal truth, power, and love.

Yet, they move differently.

The late great Billy Graham stated, the Holy Trinity isn’t so much 1+1+1 = 3, rather, they are 1x1x1 = 1

And Jesus, who was with God in the very beginning, is the Word personified.

His power and glory are unfathomable and no one like Him has ever walked this earth.

So as we read those red passages found in the New Testament, it should almost give us chills to know that they are the eternal truth of God pouring out to us.

We can trust, adore, and cling to every single word spoken from the eternal Word who is Christ Jesus!

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, thank you for sending your Son to earth to be the living Word for all of humankind. Help me to understand, interpret, and receive every word that poured from Jesus’ lips so that I can be closer to you and more like Him! In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
