“Why have you come here?” Isaac asked. “You obviously hate me, since you kicked me off your land.” They replied, “We can plainly see that the Lord is with you. So we want to enter into a sworn treaty with you. Let’s make a covenant.” Genesis 26: 27-28
The story of Isaac and King Abimelech in Genesis is one that might give you a bit of a laugh.
Let me give you a quick sequence of events:
- Isaac settled in the land of the Philistines because a severe famine struck his land.
- Isaac harvested 100 times more grain than he planted.
- Isaac became rich because the Lord blessed him.
- The Philistines got jealous.
- The Philistines filled Isaac’s wells with dirt.
- King Abimelech of the Philistines ordered Isaac to leave the land because Isaac had become too powerful.
- Isaac goes to another place and prospers there.
- King Abimelech travels to find Isaac.

It just goes to show that when God is with you, nobody can stop your blessings.
And sometimes it’s the very folks who were envious and spiteful towards you who will want to get to know you and the God you serve.
Because they’ve been an eyewitness to the joy, strength, peace, and prosperity that God has blessed you with.
I’ve said all of this to make this one important point:
If you first work on building your relationship with God and being obedient and kind like Christ, good things will surely come!
Be blessed,
Alexia
Amen! I was just talking about this with a friend! I used a scripture in Exodus when Moses came down off Mount Sinai from talking with God for 40 days and 40 nights with no food or drink and he was GLOWING!! The people were afraid so he had put a veil on. Can’t wait to see what you have to say about that one!
