If I were to ask a group of working adults if they’ve ever had issues with their bosses, I’m pretty sure the response would be a unanimous “Yes!”

In the workplace, we encounter a variety of personalities and it’s not uncommon for us to have some conflicts with our superiors.

However, when our bosses have crossed the line into abusive, controlling, or unethical territory, it’s a different story altogether.

Even the most mature Christians will struggle in that type of work environment.

But the key to successfully navigating that type of work situation is understanding that God is the ultimate authority.

No human being has any control over our future, and nobody can override God’s promises for our lives no matter how hard they try.

And God places certain people over us for a reason. Perhaps to build our strength and endurance, or to put our faith to the test.

So if we’re faced with a manager or supervisor who yells, is condescending, controlling, discriminatory, or something else, we have to hold on tight to the Cross, pray for strength, and refuse to retaliate.

Because God is watching as every attack or insult is thrown at us.

And when the time is right, He will reward us for refusing to compromise our Christian values.

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, give me the strength to withstand my difficult boss. Help me to not become bitter, angry, or frustrated because of my job. Please protect my mental and physical health as I patiently endure burdensome treatment. And if it is in your will, help me to find a better job opportunity. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
