Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. – Hebrews 11: 1-3

Hebrews 11, also known as the Hall of Faith, is one of my favorite chapters in the whole bible. Because it’s incredibly grounding; it snaps me back into spiritual reality.

And it’s interesting that the author wrote the book of Hebrews primarily because he observed an increase in spiritual fatigue among the people.

People who started out strong in the faith began to falter because they lost touch with the reality of God’s promise of heaven.

They started conducting themselves as though there was nothing more to life than what they could physically see.

And that mindset leads to short-sightedness, impatience, discouragement, taking matters into your own hands, and ultimately straying from God’s way.

So Hebrews 11 was a strong dose of faith that encouraged them to stay closely connected to God’s unseen Spirit.

And it continues to show us in the present that miracles are a direct consequence of faith – trusting God to bring into fruition what we can’t see, no matter how dire and hopeless our circumstances appear to be.

Throughout the Old Testament, phenomena manifested in reality only through faith.

And Jesus was powerless to heal the sick among Him if they had no faith.

So we have to remind ourselves daily that God is always present even though we can’t see Him.

And He acts in direct accordance with our faith.

When we have this understanding, we can live in peace knowing that all things are indeed coming together for our good.

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, thank you for being the awesome supernatural God that you are. And thank you for providing me with your word that reveals who you are and shows me exactly how to connect with you. When I am tempted to lose sight of who you are and your promises, please guide me back to the reality of your power so I can be at peace no matter what’s going on in my life. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
