“And all the trees will know that it is I, the Lord, who cuts the tall tree down and makes the short tree grow tall. It is I who makes the green tree wither and gives the dead tree new life. I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will do what I said!” – Ezekiel 17: 24
When we’ve been praying and waiting on God, we have to keep one important thing in mind:
He is always working behind the scenes on our behalf even when it appears that nothing is happening.
Our walk with God is not linear, nor is it predictable. Sometimes we feel Him moving and working, and sometimes things feel stagnant.
And in those quiet times, we might ask, “What’s going on, God? Where are you?” or “Am I doing something wrong?”
But our outlook and confusion have nothing to do with God who is ever-present.
God’s promises are true and in His word, He tells us very clearly that He always does what He says He’s going to do.
It is He who makes the tree that has been short for decades tall.
And it is He who restores dead things to life.
The breakthrough, change, or blessing we’ve been patiently waiting on is still on its way.
We just have to remind ourselves that no matter what the situation looks like, God is always at work!
Be blessed,
Alexia
Prayer: God, I’ve been praying and waiting, but I just can’t seem to see or feel you right now. Help me to understand that no matter how I feel or think, you are always present and working on my behalf. Fill me with peace as I continue to faithfully wait on you. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
