But Balaam responded to Balak’s messengers, “Even if Balak were to give me his palace filled with silver and gold, I would be powerless to do anything against the will of the Lord my God.” – Numbers 22:18

When we take our requests to God, we can get 1 of 3 answers: Yes, No, or Wait.

Yet some people continue to pray when they’ve already received a stern “NO” answer from God.

It’s a difficult pill to swallow, but the truth remains that everything we desire is not God’s will for us.

And if it ain’t in His will, it ain’t gonna happen.

This is what happened when Balak, the Moabite fruitlessly tried to curse and defeat the Israelites by petitioning God.

Balak called on a man named Balaam who was an inhabitant of Pethor because he had a track record of successfully cursing his enemies.

He offered Balaam all sorts of money and riches in exchange for his curse on the Israelites.

So Balaam took Balak’s request to God.

Not surprisingly, God said “Absolutely NOT.”

Did Balak stop there and accept that he wasn’t going to have his way?

Nope.

He petitioned to have a curse put on the Israelites 3 more times!

And not only did God say “no” each time, but He made Balaam bless the Israelites (which threw Balak into a fit of rage).

So you can pray until you’re blue in the face about a relationship, a job, or winning the lottery…

But if it’s not in God’s plan for you to have what you’re asking for, then you simply will not get it.

Understand that He’s saying no for a reason and that He knows what’s best for you.

God’s rejection is for your protection.

Be blessed,

Alexia
