But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening – it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained this way. – Hebrews 12: 10-11

In our earthly walks, there are so many things that can trip us up.

And sometimes it can feel like we’re on a complex obstacle course where traps come out of nowhere to frustrate us and demoralize us.

When we get entangled in some sinful act, we might look back and think, “I can’t believe I did that,” and question ourselves because we went against our morals.

Or we may struggle as we’re forced to deal with the painful consequences of our actions.

But when that happens, we must remember that God disciplines us because He loves us and wants to help us grow.

And there would be no opportunity for Him to discipline us if we were perfect.

When we’ve learned those hard lessons God has taught us, we can look back and understand that our lives were made better for them.

Because we gain wisdom, strength, insight, and conviction when God corrects us and we learn from our mistakes.

We must understand that we lose nothing in the process of being disciplined.

We only reap a harvest of right living that is pleasing in God’s sight.

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, I pray that when I miss the mark of your glory, I will not break down in defeat when I receive your Holy discipline. Encourage me, Lord, and give me the right perspective so that I will move forward with strength and conviction. Help me to understand that receiving your discipline is inevitable and I am always made better for it. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
