Joseph named his second son Ephraim, for he said, “God has made me fruitful in this land of my grief. – Genesis 41: 52
Have you ever felt like you were in a dry season? Where blessings seem to have shriveled up like a neglected plant?
Perhaps you’ve felt inundated with challenges or like every time you’ve taken 2 steps forward, you’ve gotten pushed 10 steps back.
You’ve tried to appear strong, but you privately wonder how much longer you can survive the drought: the grief, the pain, the uncertainty, or the constant struggle.
Sometimes you wonder how or if you’re going to make it.
Well let me ease your mind today with some good news:
God has a watering can filled with an infinite source of water.
But He can’t quench your thirst or bring you vitality if you don’t go near Him.
When speaking to the woman at the well, Jesus says in John 4:13-14:
Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
Jesus wants to give you this everlasting water. He wants you to be fruitful.
But you have to abide in Him, sit with His Word, commune with Him, and be one with Him every day in order to receive His blessings.
When your focus is on God and not on your drought, He will make you fruitful.
Even in the middle of your season of famine.
Be blessed,
Alexia
