At some point in our childhoods, we were all told by a grown-up that life wasn’t fair.

But it still stings when we see kind-hearted people grieving and when we face circumstances that have us questioning if the cosmos randomly selected us to suffer.

But we must be of good cheer!

Because all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

The puzzle pieces in our lives don’t always fit together.

Sometimes 2 + 2 = 5 and it just doesn’t make any sense.

And we’re left to ponder that ever elusive question:

WHY, God?

But as one of my favorite writers, Zora Neale Hurston, so eloquently stated, there are years that ask questions and years that answer.

God has His purpose for every circumstance in our lives, no matter how devastating, heart-wrenching, tragic, or just plain unfair.

So we must remain confident in this:

We WILL see the goodness of the Lord in our lives.

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, help me to be at peace with your will for my life today.  I don’t understand why certain things have happened and life has been unfair. But I know your Word says that you will never leave me nor forsake me. Help me to trust in your purpose for my life. And give me wisdom so that I can see things as you would have me see them.  In Jesus’ Name, I pray,  Amen.

    Hi Alexia,

Just yesterday I was taking a walk by my work. I was listening to the song “The Goodness of God” by Bethel Worship. I can truly say I have lived in the goodness of God through the good times and hard times. God is faithful! Thank you for these devotionals! Facebook can be a good thing at times 🙂

Hi Emily! Thank you so much for your lovely comment! To God be the Glory for connecting us in fellowship.:) My church choir sings “The Goodness of God” all the time and I LOVE it! His goodness is constantly running after us, isn’t it?

Amen Alexia. This scripture came to mind as I read this devotional…

“And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We have to trust that God has it all under control and in the palm of His hand no matter what it looks like.
