Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right. This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel – that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.” -Acts 10: 34-36
One day when the Apostle Peter went up on his roof to pray, the Lord gave him a very strange vision.
In this vision, Peter saw the sky open and a sheet fall down with all kinds of animals, reptiles, and birds inside. Then he heard a voice say to him, “Get up Peter; kill and eat them.”
But this confused him because according to the law given by God through Moses, he was forbidden to eat those things.
He didn’t understand what the vision symbolized until he met Cornelius, the devout Roman officer whom God was very pleased with.
After meeting Cornelius, he realized he wasn’t special just because he was a descendant of Abraham.
Because God created and loves everyone. He’s no respecter of persons.
And that’s exactly how He wants us to be, impartial and nondiscriminatory, never judging others because of where they come from, what they look like, how they speak, or the way they dress.
He wants us to pour out our love and grace on others the same way He pours it out on us.
That’s how we prove to Him that we truly love Him.
Be blessed,
Alexia
Prayer: God, thank you for being a God who loves everyone and doesn’t pick favorites. And thank you for loving me. Please continue to help me treat others with the same love and grace that you show me everyday. Make me more like you with each passing day. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
