If any of the people – men or women – betray the Lord by doing wrong to another person, they are guilty. They must confess their sin and make full restitution for what they have done, adding an additional 20 percent and returning it to the person who was wronged – Numbers 5: 5-7
When someone hurts you (or vice versa), there’s one very important thing to remember:
The offense is a direct assault on God, not you.
A person may hurt your feelings, abuse you verbally or physically, lie to you, fail to keep their word or treat you with malice.
But when that happens, know that their actions hurt God way more than they could ever hurt you.
It was such a big deal to God for the Israelites not to wrong each other that not only did perpetrators have to confess their sin and pay their victims back…
But they had to add an additional 20 percent to the payback!
God created love and He is love. The only thing He’s incapable of doing is behaving out of accordance with love.
So to cheat, lie, or treat others with malice or disrespect fundamentally goes against God’s entire being.
It makes Him angry. And just like the Hulk, you won’t like God very much when He’s angry.
The next time someone makes the decision to go against God by violating you in some way, don’t retaliate.
Just sit back with a bag of popcorn and watch God work on your behalf.
I can personally testify that God has silenced malicious people who have held an evil spirit towards me.
And when I’ve been the guilty party, He’s put me in my place…
Remember, God sees everything.
So when someone does you wrong, step out of the way, don’t retaliate, and allow God to fix the situation.
Be blessed,
Alexia
Amen Alexia. God is a God of Justice. It has helped me in my life realizing that when people harm others it’s an internal heart issue and God will work that out for them on their behalf as they seek Him.
Ebony, you are absolutely right! When people do hurtful things, it’s not about who they’re hurting. There’s a heart issue going on. And when we pray for someone who persecutes us, we should pray that God removes what is not of Him and places in that person a godly heart of love.
Thanks Alexia for sharing. That has happened to me. This person turned on me,did and said hurtful things to me. I’ve been through a lot in the last 7 years. Always felt I had no support. This person looks and reactions to me was so heartbreaking. I began to try to remember what I did to them. I cried”Why”a lot. But thank you for making it clear what God wants us to do. So I’m stepping away,Let go . Let God.🙏
Auntie Gloria! Amen! Yes, God will take care of the issue, right the wrong that was done to you, and turn that person’s heart toward Him. I pray you find more peace with your situation!!
