When Aaron raised his hand and struck the ground with his staff, gnats infested the entire land…Pharaoh’s magicians tried to do the same thing with their secret arts, but this time they failed…”This is the finger of God!” the magicians exclaimed to Pharaoh. Exodus: 8: 17-19

When I lived in Orlando back in 2015, I discovered a young high priestess and visited her regularly.

Her shop was filled with all sorts of crystals, books, charms, oils, dried leaves, special incense, and wood.

And at her recommendation, every evening I would burn a piece of wood called Palo Santo in my apartment to clear out the energy.

The idea was that the wood contained special properties that could repel bad spirits and cleanse my space.

But over time, I came to realize that God is the only one powerful enough to purify me and bind any attacks aimed at me from Satan.

The smoke of the wood could change the air quality at best, but it could never supersede the power of God.

I learned that participating in those practices placed me outside of the will of God and His righteousness.

And that there was no conjuring, spell, or ritual that could override God’s power.

That’s why the magician’s efforts to duplicate God’s wonders were completely futile.

When an Egyptian magician threw his staff to the ground and it turned into a serpent, Moses threw his staff down and it turned into a serpent as well.

But Moses’ serpent devoured the Egyptian’s serpent like a lion would devour an antelope.

When God sent the plague of gnats upon Egypt, He drained Pharaoh’s magicians of their power, making it so that they could no longer compete with Him…

In this world, there is a spiritual power that people can tap into. But it doesn’t come from God.

And if it doesn’t come directly from God, it’s demonic power.

Remember: Jesus holds authority over Satan and his demons.

If you or someone you know is fascinated by or curious about these spiritual practices, know that it’s the wrong path to take. Don’t waste any money seeking after that type of spiritual knowledge.

God’s power is the only power you ever need in your life.

Be blessed,

Alexia
