Don’t Let The Tempter Get The Best Of You

While we were with you, we warned you that troubles would soon come – and they did, as you well know. That is why, when I could bear it no longer, I sent Timothy to find out whether your faith was still strong. I was afraid that the tempter had gotten the best of you and that our work had been useless. – 1 Thessalonians 3: 4-5

As believers, we must know that the moment we gave our lives to Christ and allowed Him to reign and rule over our hearts, our trouble in this world was instantly quadrupaled.

Because once Satan sees who we belong to, he will work overtime to try to throw us off from our purpose and bring us down.

He may throw unexpected setbacks in our paths.

Or he may use people to plant seeds of doubt and discouragement in our minds to keep us from living our purpose.

He wants nothing more than to see us distraught, dejected, and crumbling in hopelessness.

Because he knows that once he’s destroyed our faith, he’s cut off our access to God’s power.

So when we get tempted to lose heart, we must remind ourselves that the devil has absolutely no power over us when our faith is strong.

And why shouldn’t our faith be strong?

We serve a God who parted the Red Sea and sent His son to the heal the sick and raise the dead. There’s no threat or trouble in this world that can overshadow the miraculous power of our God.

So if we know we are walking in His will and are on the path to complete the assignment He’s given to us, we shouldn’t spend one nano-second entertaining doubt or discouragment.

Our God is eternally powerful and His love is unfailing. When this truth is at the top of our minds everyday, we have no choice but to carry faith as strong as teflon.

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, help me to stay strong in my faith when the devil comes to tempt me. Help me to see things clearly and understand that you alone are in control of my life and destiny. When I’m tempted to feel discouraged, please send your Holy Spirit to lift me up and encourage me in my work. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
