Some time later Samson fell in love with a woman named Delilah, who lived in the valley of Sorek. The rulers of the Philistines went to her and said, “Entice Samson to tell you what makes him so strong and how he can be overpowered and tied up securely. Then each of us will give you 1,100 pieces of silver.” Judges 16: 4-5
The fact that God anointed Samson with supernatural strength was a major blow to the Philistine nation who were fierce opponents of the Israelites.
The Philistines were so desperate to defeat Samson, they resorted to bribing Delilah.
Instead of submitting to the God who gave Samson his strength, they decided to play dirty.
Because they didn’t want to be strong like Samson. They wanted Samson to be weak like them.
And in life, there will be times when we encounter Philistine-like opponents.
Who, when they see us smiling and moving effortlessly in the midst of chaos, will seek to bring us down.
Instead of turning their hearts to the God we serve, they will seek to pull us down to their level.
But we mustn’t let them.
In the end, Samson was tricked into renouncing his dedication to God, which drained him of his strength.
So be careful!
Some folks want us to stray from our faith and abandon God because they know that when we do, we’ll be just like them.
So we must rely on our Rock of Salvation at all times and be vigilant to avoid tricks of the enemy.
Stay strong in Christ each and every day and no one will be able to defeat you.
Be blessed,
Alexia
Amen Alexia!! Like Pastor Jenkins said yesterday “there’s nothing you can do to make me doubt Him!!” I’ve seen Him work wonders in my life that only He can do!
