Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home. If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? – Luke 16: 10-11

Someone once told me to watch out for people who tell lies about small, inconsequential things.

Because if they would lie about something small when telling the truth wouldn’t hurt them in any way, they would definitely lie to protect themselves in a more serious situation.

And it’s a dangerous game to put your trust in somebody like that… For real, for real.

One of the big questions we ask ourselves when it comes to picking a friend or a mate is, Can I trust this person?

And that’s how God feels about us:  Can I trust this person with the riches of my Kingdom?

The way we handle what He’s given us is one metric He uses to measure our worthiness.

If we’re faithful to give and use our resources for His kingdom when we don’t have very much, He may decide to give us more.

And if we’re faithful to use the larger portion for His Kingdom, we’ll receive it back 10-fold after we enter the pearly gates.

When we give with the right spirit of compassion for others and true love for God, He will see to it that we are blessed eternally.

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, fill me with a heart that desires to use the resources you’ve given me for the benefit of your Kingdom. Show me how, when, and where to give. Guide me in all of my business dealings so that I’m in alignment with your will. Teach me how to be the good steward that you want me to be. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
