And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, please let this child’s life return to him.” The Lord heard Elijah’s prayer, and the life of the child returned, and he revived! – 1 Kings 17: 21-22

Elijah is probably the most fascinating and intriguing prophet in the entire Bible.

He pops out of nowhere during King Ahab’s reign in the book of 1 Kings, and through him, God does some seriously unprecedented things.

It is through Elijah that we see a person raised from the dead for the first time in Scripture.

Can you imagine what kind of faith and boldness it took for Elijah to ask God to bring back a boy from the dead?

Seriously, how did he come to the conclusion that resurrection was even a possibility?

It seems inconceivable, but Elijah came to understand that God was a God who could make the impossible possible.

In my own life, I’ve come to understand this as well.

God is not relegated to the two-dimensional pages of the Bible. His presence is 4D and then some.

God can do things so spectacular that He could leave some folks seriously traumatized and bewildered.

So when the chips are down and it looks like all hope is completely lost, believe God for a miracle like Elijah did.

If you believe, I guarantee you will see God do something utterly impossible at least once in your life.

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: Lord, teach me how to have faith like the prophet Elijah. Fill me up with so much of your Spirit that I begin to ask you for things that other people have ruled out as impossible. God, erase any doubts in my mind and help me to grow in my faith so that others around me can also witness your supernatural power and praise your matchless name in heaven. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
