And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. – Joshua 24:15
In his old age, Joshua had seen the Lord perform many miracles.
He knew of God’s goodness firsthand.
And before he died, he gave a final call to the Israelites to worship God wholeheartedly.
He knew some of them would turn from God, but he made his plans very clear:
For him and his family, they would serve the Lord forever.
Like Joshua, I too have experienced God’s wonderful goodness and grace.
With my own two eyes, I have witnessed profound and life-altering miracles.
I have verified the truth of His Word.
And I have come to a place in my life where I have an unshakable conviction that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross to cover my sins.
In my journey, I have explored many religions and spiritual practices, but none of them have helped me to grow the way Christ has.
None of them have healed me the way Christ has.
None of them have taught me how to love the way Christ has.
None of them have given me peace the way Christ has.
None of them have given me assurance the way Christ has.
So if coming to know His unmatchable goodness isn’t for you, by all means, stick with what you know.
But as for me, I will always serve my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The choice is yours to decide who or what you will follow.
I just want you to know that following Christ has been the most rewarding, fulfilling, and beautiful experience my soul has ever experienced.
Be blessed,
Alexia
