Luke 7:47 – Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little
When I reflect on the parable Jesus shared with Simon when he was confused as to why Jesus allowed a sinner woman to touch Him, weep over Him, and kiss His feet, it brings a richness to my soul that I can’t really put into words:
In verses 41-43, Jesus says:
“There was a certain creditor who had two debtors.
One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both.
Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?”
Simon answered correctly by saying that the one who was forgiven for more debt would love more.
And I’ll say this: There are folks sitting on death row right now who have more depth and love in their souls for God than some Preachers who’ve never smoked, drank, cussed, or missed a Sunday in church.
Don’t hang your head about anything you’ve done in the past, no matter who is holding a grudge against you, or how terrible you deem the deed(s) to have been.
Like the sinner woman, just ask God for forgiveness, be grateful, and love Him back for all the love He’s given you.
Sincerely,
Alexia
