Luke 2: 10-11 -but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
For a long time, I never really understood what Christmas was actually about. As a child, I thought it was about Christmas trees, wrapping gifts, sending Hallmark cards, and being good for Santa Claus.
I’d always heard the phrase “Jesus is the reason for the season,” and I sang all the Christmas carols, but spiritually, I never really understood the incredible miracle of Jesus’ birth.
…until I read the Bible.
After I absorbed the Scripture in its fullness, it really started to click to me how big a deal Jesus actually was.
God chose Mary, a humble and lowly young woman to carry the Prince of Peace, the magnificent wonder who would save humanity from its sin.
Jesus’ birth was a colossal event in the history of the world!
Jesus was the One the prophets in the Old Testament prophesied about thousands of years before his birth. He was the One that everyone was waiting on; the Messiah of the world…
So this Christmas, I’m filled with thanks in knowing that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son… so that whosoever believed in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
I’m so thankful that through Christ, I have eternal life.
I’m thankful that He loves me no matter what. I’m thankful He understands me when others don’t. I thankful He forgives me when others won’t. I’m thankful that He sees the best in me when others only see the worst in me.
I’m thankful that each day I live, I get the opportunity to learn how to be more loving, more forgiving, and more faithful…because of Jesus.
I’m so grateful that God brought such a wonderful gift to us through Jesus Christ…
Enjoy your Christmas and never forget how precious and valuable Jesus thinks you are!
Sincerely,
Alexia
