“What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, ‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ Does the pot exclaim, ‘How clumsy can you be?’ How terrible it would be if a newborn baby said to its mother, ‘Why did you make me this way?'” – Isaiah 45: 9-10

When I was a little girl, we used to sing a little rap song in church called “God Don’t Make No Junk.”

And even though I was only 7 years old, that song made a lasting impression on me.

It taught me that everybody has value because they were created by God.

We’re all pretty familiar with Psalms 139: 14 – that we’re fearfully and wonderfully made.

But Isaiah 45 really spells it out for us and makes it crystal clear: God created each of us with precision, so to be upset with Him about the way He created us is pointless.  And it leads to a life of needless sorrow.

We are who we are because God created us to be that way!

It’s not productive for us to wish we looked like someone else, talked like someone else, or came from someone else’s family.

Because if God created us for a specific purpose, our mission on this earth is to implore Him daily to reveal the reason for our existence.

We should all be joyous of the fact that He’s given us breath and a part to play to fulfill His master plan.

So whenever we experience moments of low-self worth, we should remember that God made us.

And when it all boils down to it, we’re no different from any other human being on this earth who will one day meet the grave.

We were all designed according to God’s purpose and God don’t make no junk!

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, thank you for giving me life and a divine purpose. Help me to understand that while I am a sinner who needs Jesus, there’s nothing wrong with the way you’ve created me. Guide me every day and help me to feel more and more fulfilled with the purpose you’ve created for me. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.

This scripture is so profound to me. Like how foolish do I look arguing with my Creator when He is the one who created me?! What an insult. I would be highly offended, but thank goodness for God’s unfailing love ❤️
