In Jerusalem, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will spread a wonderful feast for all the people of the world. There he will remove the cloud of gloom, the shadow of death that hangs over the earth. He will swallow up death forever! The sovereign Lord will wipe away all tears. – Isaiah 25: 6-8
Studies show that in 2021, Americans’ three biggest fears were:
- Losing a loved one
- A loved one becoming physically ill
- Mass shootings
And worldwide, people struggle daily with grief and depression after they’ve lost someone near and dear to them.
But if we genuinely believe that Scripture is real and that through Jesus we have eternal life, we should take comfort in knowing that God has prepared a place for us and the people we love in His eternal Kingdom.
As my grandmother used to say, we should celebrate when people leave this world instead of when they come in.
Because when they leave this world, they’re going to meet God on the celestial shores of heaven.
And God will give us the glorious opportunity to embrace them again when it is our turn to be called home.
Jesus proved to the world that death was no match for Him when he conquered the grave and rose again.
And John 3:16 tells us that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
So as we grapple with the pain and sorrow of physical death, we must believe with all of our hearts and souls that God’s promise of eternal salvation is real and not just a metaphor.
Our Sovereign Lord has made provisions to wipe away all of our tears for all eternity.
Be blessed,
Alexia
Prayer: God, in my times of grief and mourning or when the shadow of death is looming over my loved ones, I pray that you would send your Holy Spirit to be a comfort to my soul. I pray that you would speak to my heart and give me blessed assurance that you’ve prepared a heavenly, everlasting home for all those who believe in your son Jesus. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
Amen 🙏🏾 thank you Lord! For the power of life and death is in Your Hands!
