But though they thunder like breakers on a beach, God will silence them, and they will run away. They will flee like chaff scattered by the wind, like a tumbleweed whirling before a storm. – Isaiah 17: 13

Sometimes when folks think a little too much of themselves, they put themselves on a pedestal and behave as though they can do no wrong.

They talk their talk because they think they’re walking the walk.

But little do they know that God is watching and waiting for the moment to zip their lips.

In my life, I’ve witnessed God leave a few people speechless and shocked by His correction (myself included).

The way He works is just jaw-dropping.

For example, let’s say someone discloses to you that they’ve dealt with severe mental health issues in the past.

And then the next Sunday while you’re waiting for church service to begin, you disparage that person to the people sitting next to you. And collectively, you all have a good laugh at the person’s expense.

But lo and behold, when the preacher delivers his sermon, he tells the congregation to stop talking about people who deal with mental health issues because “If Jesus Himself dealt with sorrow and mental anguish, what chance do the rest of us have?”

And you and all your pew buddies fall silent with shock, shame, and embarrassment as the congregation around you roars in agreement.

That’s the type of thing God does because He sees everything and He’s always several steps ahead of us.

So we should never worry or fear the weapons or words anyone has formed against us.

Because when we’ve dedicated ourselves to the Lord through His Son Jesus, no weapon formed against us shall prosper.

Those who seek to do us harm will be silenced and disarmed every single time.

Be blessed,

Alexia

Prayer: God, I’m so thankful that you are a God of justice who sees everything that goes on in my life. I know you are a God who corrects those who He loves, so thank you for correcting me when I’ve crossed the line and sinned against others. Help me to live well so I will not have to be silenced in the future. And give me a spirit of conviction so I can speak boldly about your power and glory to others. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.

Now that’s what I call a rhema Word. I’m so thankful for God’s correction and discipline because it keeps us in line. He shows us how we should live and treat others.
