To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life – this is indeed a gift from God. God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past. – Ecclesiastes 5: 19-20
Just for a moment, imagine how you would feel if you never compared your life to anyone else’s, and you embraced every misfortune you’ve experienced as an important and necessary part of your life’s journey.
Think about how much more capacity you would have to really enjoy life and look to the future with hope.
Think about how easy it would be to experience consistent inner peace.
For some of us, truly accepting our lots in life in this way may seem like wishful thinking, an impossible feat to achieve.
Because we may be in the thick of a crisis at this very moment.
Or we may have suffered so many tragic blows that life has come to feel like an elaborate cosmic injustice.
Some of us may wonder: How can I accept what feels unacceptable?
Well, the only way we can truly come to a place of acceptance is through the power of God.
Our ability to accept who we are, what has happened to us, and the condition of our lives does not come from our own efforts and strength.
It’s a divine gift that God gives to us.
If we would only allow the Holy Spirit to come in and fill us with the insight and understanding we need to see ourselves the way God sees us, we would open our eyes to a brand new world.
He can help us to see clearly through the eyes of the Spirit so that we can understand that our lives are richer in the present (or will be in the future) because of all we’ve endured.
All we have to do is ask, and He will go to work to help us change our mindset.
He will help us shed the cocoon of unacceptance so that we can take flight into a beautiful new way of life.
Be blessed,
Alexia
Prayer: God, help me to accept who I am, what has happened to me, what I’ve lost, and where I am in my life. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and help me to grasp the life lessons you have been trying to teach me. Lord, I want to learn how to see my life through the Spirit, not through the flesh so that I can truly enjoy the life you have given me. Move me closer and closer to the light of acceptance every day. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
