When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers – the moon and the stars you set in place – what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God… – Psalm 8: 3-5
Just for a moment, think about the people who are most precious to you.
It could be your spouse or significant other, your children, or perhaps a mentor.
For me, it’s my parents.
You would do anything for these folks, right?
When they are sad, you are sad. When they are hurting, you are hurting.
And you pray that they are loved and treated well wherever they go.
Well get this: God loves each one of us 1000x more than we love the people most dear to us!
Isn’t that mind-blowing?
That the Creator of the galaxies, who is infinitely bigger than we are, would love us so much that He would send His only Son to pay the price for our sins for all of eternity?
That He would give us a gift so great that we can’t even truly comprehend it, much less repay it?
I don’t know about you, but that just makes me want to shout “Hallelujah!” and sing His praises all day long.
Because it’s truly remarkable that He would think of us as His precious children when we didn’t do anything to deserve a love so big.
That’s why we should be comforted every single day, through the good times as well as the bad.
Because no matter what happens to us, we can know without a shadow of a doubt that God loves us more than we can imagine.
Be blessed,
Alexia
